The Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Education Center (LECJEC) on the Brooklyn Park campus of Hennepin Technical College has won the 2011 International Interior Design Award Northland Chapter FAB (Fresh, Artistic, Brilliant) award for the government/institutional category.

The 67,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility, which opened in August 2010, is a regional resource for professional education and training, applied research and community partnership. The building, designed by BKV Group in Minneapolis, incorporates specialized, state-of-the-art classrooms, laboratories, and high technology training and simulation facilities for law enforcement skills.

About the Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Education Center
Through a partnership between Metropolitan State University and Hennepin Technical College, the center offers collaborative programming for law enforcement, criminal justice, fire and first responder programs. Together, these partners reach the majority of students attending college in Minnesota in these fields of public safety and security.
