INDUSTRIAL BUILDING ENGINEERING AND MAINTENANCE

With training in the Industrial Building Engineering and Maintenance program (IBEM), you’ll benefit from a multi-discipline education in building and machine maintenance technologies. Learn about various aspects of maintenance, carpentry, heating and cooling practices, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, electrical and motor control operation, machine-tool processes, welding, CAD operation, and troubleshooting techniques. If it helps you understand building and machine maintenance, you’ll learn it here. That’s why you’ll be prepared to succeed on the job.
Labs and Classrooms
Our lab areas are very clean and inviting, with modern equipment along with up-to-date hands-on activities for a positive learning experience. The training activities performed in the labs are focused toward the course topics discussed in lectures. IBEM students will utilize labs in the following areas: Fluid Power, Welding, Engineering CAD, Machine Tool, Carpentry, and HVAC.

Job Outlook / Gainful Employment
IBEM is a fully recognized and accredited program under the MnSCU system.
An articulation agreement between Hennepin Technical College and Minnesota State University Moorhead will facilitate credit transfer of HTC's Industrial Building Engineering and Maintenance diploma toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Management at MSU-Moorhead.
