Michael started teaching in the Business Department at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI in 1988 where he taught for many years. He taught classes in the areas of Business Law, Criminal Justice, and Civil procedure.
Prior to joining Hennepin Tech he practiced law for over 20 years primarily in the areas of business organizations, bankruptcy, and criminal law. Michael sat on many boards over his career such as the State of Michigan Boundary Commission, as Chairperson of the Recipient’s Rights Board of Bay Area Medical Center, and Chairperson of the Board of UP TRANSCOMM Federal Credit Union. By applying these many experiences, he brings to life the materials he instructs in the classroom.
Michael has a Juris Doctorate from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing Michigan. He also has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Northern Michigan University. He lives in Pine Springs, MN with his wife Angela and his five children.
