ACES focuses on 4 areas of expertise

1. Emergency Medical Services

ACES Emergency Medical Services provides state-of-the-art training for both new and experienced medical personnel. For the career-minded, we offer credit occupational certificates in ER Technician and EMS Specialist. Improve your current skills, or learn new ones with our professional courses in a number of specialties. Whether you are a First Responder, EMT, Paramedic, R.N. or M.D., you will find new programs and techniques to enhance your skills.

2. Fire Protection and Emergency Management

For more than 30 years, HTC has provided fire fighter training to dedicated students. Our Associate of Applied Science degree in Fire Science Technology is accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC). The Emergency Management/Homeland Security Associate of Applied Science degree prepares students to work in a city, county, or state emergency management program. Completion of federal and state required courses will lead to certification as a Minnesota Emergency Management Director.

HTC also offers a broad range of professional training programs in MINS/ICS National Incident Management System (IS 700), with basic, intermediate, and advanced ICS concepts (IS 100-400) and National Response Plan (IS 800). Fire training include:  firefighter I and II, rescue, department drills in fire suppression, prevention and investigation, recruit firefighter academy, leadership and management training, emergency vehicle operations; Spanish for emergency responders; technical rescues and much more.

3. Industrial Health and Safety

ACES Industrial Health and Safety program offers safety and OSHA compliance training in a wide variety of industries and settings. For more than 30 years, our training teams have worked with individuals and departments in a wide range of topics including: Confined Space Entry and Rescue, Industrial HAZWOPER Technician and Refresher, Forklift Operator, Trenching and Excavation Safety/Competent Person. Industrial Fire Brigade, Safety Committee Training, Safety Inspections and Audits, and much more.

4. Law Enforcement

Providing the best training possible from pre-service to retirement.

In August of 2010, the new Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Education Center (LECJEC) was opened in a stand-alone facility on the Brooklyn Park campus. LECJEC houses the skills program for pre-service students and has features to provide state-of-the-art educational experiences for in-service personnel. The center houses two firearms ranges, a video simulator, a two-story simulation lab area, and numerous AV equipped rooms.

The customized training services law enforcement program provides in-service training opportunities for peace officers and partners with Fire and EMS to provide integrated response training.
