Your Library Account
Every HTC Student has a library account where they can renew the items they have checked out, view items they have on hold, see any fines they may have accrued, or request items through interlibrary loan.
To login to your library account, go to: https://mplus.mnpals.net/vufind/MyResearch/Home
You can login with your Star ID and password OR the 14-digit library barcode on the back of your student ID card.
If you do not have or do not remember you Star ID, please visit: https://starid.mnscu.edu/
The library currently lends laptops (2 days), iPads (7 days), and Kindles pre-loaded with many books (3 weeks). For information on checking out these items, please see the Amenity Item Checkout section of the Library Policies page
The library carries many of the current textbooks for HTC courses. These books may be checked out for 4 hours. You are welcome to take these to class or other areas within the building, but you may not take them off-campus. Late returns are subject to fines.
To see if the library carries your current course textbook, search for the title of your book in the HTC catalog:
For more information on checking out textbooks, please see the Amenity Item Checkout section of the Library Policies page.
HTC's Research Guides (aka LibGuides) contain countless tips, best practices, and resources for research within your program and beyond.
Visit the HTC LibGuides website to find a guide: http://hennepintech.libguides.com/
If you'd like to suggest a guide to be created, please email email@example.com.
No library can hold everything, so libraries like to share their resources whenever possible. If the HTC Library does not carry a resource you need or would like to use, simply submit an Interlibrary Loan request; and we will request to borrow the item from a library that does own it.
Interlibrary Loan requests can be created through a database search or via your Library Account (see above).
You can also search for and find items for Interlibrary Loan via the following resources:
- MnLink Gateway (searches across most libraries in Minnesota)
- WorldCat (searches across over 10,000 libraries worldwide, with preference toward local libraries)
For step-by-step instructions on submitting Interlibrary Loan requests, see the guide: Request an Item through Interlibrary Loan.
Request a Library Purchase
If you would like to request that the HTC Library purchase a specific item for our collection, please send an email with the item details to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Schedule the Librarian (students and faculty)
Do you have a research question you need help with? Or do you just want to know how to utilize the library resources and services more efficiently? Call or email the Librarian to set-up a research appointment.
