Hazardous Materials Award Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate skills necessary to respond to a hazardous materials incident at the technician/specialist level in accordance with NFPA 472.
  2. Perform mitigation skills at the hazmat technician level.
  3. Demonstrate a working knowledge of the nine classes of hazardous materials.
  4. Identify hazardous materials containers and fixed site containment systems.
  5. Perform the duties of the required supervisory positions within a hazardous materials team.
