BROOKLYN PARK, MINN. –Individuals interested in beginning or advancing a sales career now have the opportunity to earn a professional sales degree at Hennepin Technical College. Courses in this new 60-credit Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree program are offered at HTC’s Brooklyn Park campus.

“Sales professionals help generate revenue for companies through their ability to provide quality goods, services and ideas to customers,” said HTC Instructor Kathy Pederson. “HTC’s program provides students with a skill set that prepares them for success on the job.” Courses in the program include managing customer relations, sales account analysis, introduction to selling, consultative sales and territory/account management. Students will develop skills in interpersonal communication, team building and decision making. They will also develop oral and written skills necessary for preparing presentations, business reports and proposals.

HTC is currently the only Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) institution offering a professional sales program in the Twin Cities. The 60-credit A.A.S. degree transfers to Metropolitan State University’s Bachelor of Applied Science in Sales Management.

The courses in the program are open to people who wish to enroll in individual courses as well as those who are pursuing a degree.
