Hennepin Technical College Instructors Nominated for Teaching Award

BROOKLYN PARK & EDEN PRAIRIE, MINN. – Hennepin Technical College instructors Drew Goddard and Chef Don Wood have been nominated for the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) Board of Trustees Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Drew Goddard is an instructor in HTC’s Ford Automotive Student Service Education Training (ASSET) program. The program is a factory-authorized training program that is jointly sponsored by the Ford Motor Company, Lincoln Mercury dealers and HTC. Goddard has been an instructor at HTC since 1997.

Chef Don Wood has been an instructor in the college’s Culinary Arts program since 1974. Recognized as a leader in Culinary Arts training, HTC was the first Culinary Arts program in Minnesota to be accredited by the American Culinary Federation, which is the largest and most prestigious professional organization of chefs in the United States.

The Board of Trustees Award for Excellence in Teaching is an honor bestowed upon MnSCU faculty to acknowledge and reward exceptional individual professional accomplishment and to encourage ongoing excellence in teaching. The Board of Trustees Award event will be held April 16 at Minneapolis Community & Technical College/Metropolitan State University Minneapolis campus.
