CLEP FAQ's:
About CLEP
CLEP provides students of any age with the opportunity to earn college
credit by earning qualifying scores on any of the 34 CLEP
examinations.
Why take CLEP exams?
Save time. Get college credit for what you’ve
learned through independent study, advanced high school courses,
noncredit adult courses, or professional development.
Save money. Compare the cost of a CLEP
exam ($65) to the cost of tuition. CLEP exams are free to military
service members.
Get started. CLEP can help you begin your
education for a new future with Hennepin Technical College.
Satisfy a proficiency requirement.
Demonstrate you’ve already mastered the content of college math or a
foreign language.
CLEP Exam Schedule
Hennepin Technical College administers CLEP exams on Friday
afternoons (12:00 - 4:00 p.m.) at Brooklyn Park Campus and one to two
evenings a month at Eden Prairie Campus. Testing times are subject to
change without notice.
Schedule an Appointment
Appointments for CLEP exams must be made with the HTC Contact for
CLEP Testing, Angel Hoglund, by phone 763.488.2625 or by email
angel.hoglund@hennepintech.edu. No pre-registration paperwork
is required! The test administrator will register students the day
they come in for testing. If you are unable to attend the scheduled
testing appointment, please contact Angel Hoglund for cancellation or
rescheduling.
Exam Costs
Hennepin Technical College charges a $20 non-refundable
administration fee (check, cash, credit-card—except American
Express—accepted) for each CLEP exam (payable at the Tuition Office).
If paying by check, make checks payable to Hennepin Technical
College. A paid receipt of the administration fee must be shown
before test registration.
Hennepin Technical College requests that all
CLEP exam fees be paid for with a credit card; however, a check
(payable to CLEP) is also acceptable. Please inform the Test
Administrator if you want to pay for the exam by check. The College
Board charges a $65 fee for each CLEP exam administered. No more than
two CLEP exams may be scheduled per day. Other appointments may be
scheduled to accommodate the testing services needed.

Please park in the visitor lot at the front of the school. A
