1) Maximum amount for both semesters, Fall and Spring

Add the Sub amount and the Unsub amount for both semesters.

Fall Spring
  $1312  $1313
+$2000 +$2000
  $3312 +$3313 = $6625

Amount = $6625

  • Begin Date = Fall Semester

  • End Date = Spring Semester

2) Maximum amount for one semester only, Fall Only or Spring Only

Add the Sub amount and the Unsub amount for one semester.

   $1312
+ $2000
 = $3312
Amount = $3312
  • For Fall Only: Begin Date = Fall Semester

  • For Spring Only: Begin Date = Spring Semester

  • End Date = Fall Semester

  • End Date = Spring Semester

3) Both semesters but only the Subsidized amount

Add the Sub amount for Fall and the Sub amount for Spring

Fall Spring
$1312 + $1313 = $2625

Amount of $2625

  • Begin Date = Fall Semester

  • End Date = Spring Semester

4) Both or one semester but not the maximum amount

If you want to request an amount that’s less than the maximum amount enter the amount you want. Keep in mind that the Sub eligibility will be used first and then the Unsub. So if you want $2000 for one semester you’ll get $1312 in Sub and $688 in Unsub ($1312+$688=$2000). Also keep in mind that if you don’t specify it’s for only one term, the amount will be divided by two; half of it will be for fall and the other half will be for spring.

5) Didn’t request all the money and now you want more

If you need to adjust your loan after you submitted your MPN, stop at the financial aid office window and submit your request in writing. In most cases, the disbursement will be made within two weeks after the request is certified by the Financial Aid Office.
